Jos\u00e9-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Deroubaix holds a PhD in political science, is a civil engineer for public works, and serves as deputy director and researcher at the Water, Environment and Urban Systems Laboratory (LEESU) at the \u00c9cole nationale des ponts et chauss\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


He is also the editor of the “Critiques & Cit\u00e9s”<\/em> collection, dedicated to urban planning and urban sociology, published by L’\u0152il d’Or<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His research mainly focuses on environmental public policies related to water management. A central theme in his work is the role of users in various water preservation policies. This issue is at the heart of his research, whether it involves residents’ practices around bodies of water in the Paris metropolitan area or large lakes and lagoons in sub-Saharan African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, he has explored how residents perceive water pollution and environmental degradation, specifically by examining the processes of raising public awareness around endocrine disruptors in cosmetics and the associated risk perceptions and behaviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is currently leading an innovation project aimed at reusing greywater for multiple domestic purposes in dense urban areas.
